Donald Trump says he is open to further discussions on the Paris climate accord, but maintains the agreement is unfair to his country.

He made the comments during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Confusion remains over whether the United States will pull out of the landmark agreement, with conflicting reports coming out of the White House.

But on Monday, the US signalling it was back out again, as top White House economic adviser, Michael Cohn told ministers from several major countries, that the US position has not changed.
