Iraqi government forces are preparing for what they hope is the final phase of their war against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, known as ISIS) group. The fighters are surrounded in their last remaining urban stronghold – the town of Hawijia. Morale in the Iraqi army is high following recent victories. But some Iraqis are worried ISIL’s ideology will remain a threat long after the group is defeated.
