The Taliban says it carried out a deadly suicide attack targeting government soldiers in southern Afghanistan.

The bombing, which killed at least seven people, came a day after US President Donald Trump announced a new US strategy that could see an increase in US troops in Afghanistan.

Trump’s announcement prompted the Taliban to warn of more attacks as a bid to push foreign forces to leave the country.
