Venezuela vote brings border traffic to a standstill

The flow of Venezuelans passing into neighbouring Colombia nearly came to a standstill at one popular border crossing on Sunday as President Maduro’s government held its controversial vote.

Roadblocks erected by the so-called resistance, and fears of robberies on highways, made travel difficult for Venezuelans who were wanting to leave within 24 hours of the vote.
