Fighters from the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are reportedly closing in on the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’s self-declared capital, Raqqa.
Fighters from the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are reportedly closing in on the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’s self-declared capital, Raqqa.
The SDF seized full control of Tabqa, 50 kilometres from Raqqa, from ISIL on Wednesday.
The city was cut off from food and water supply as the SDF moved in.
