Belgian authorities have set a Nov 17 date for the extradition trial of former Catalan President Carles Puigdemont, but has not kept him in custody.
Catalonia’s deposed president, Carles Puigdemont, and four of his colleagues are set to appear in a Belgian court next week.
It’s the start of proceedings to decide if they’ll be sent back to Spain, where they face charges of sedition and rebellion.
But Puigdemont has promised to resist extradition, saying he won’t get a fair trial.
