US to start airing court-ordered anti-smoking adverts

Despite several members of the Trump administration having supported the tobacco lobby, court-ordered radio and TV ads highlighting the dangers of smoking debut in the United States this weekend.

Smoking advertisements will return to US airwaves on Sunday after being banned for the past 46 years.

But it’s not the choice of “Big Tobacco”.

The ads are court-ordered to warn of the dangers of smoking after a federal judge found the tobacco industry had deceived the public for years.
