Hundreds have passed into Egypt since the crossing opened on Saturday, but there is frustration among many more who have not yet crossed, many of them students trying to reach universities abroad.

Israel and Egypt’s blockade of Gaza has meant the crossing has been closed for most of the last decade.

Al Jazeera’s Malcolm Webb reports from the Palestinian side of the crossing.
