Hundreds of decommissioned school buses from the US are driven south to Guatemala every month.
They are repaired, repainted, and made roadworthy to transport millions of people across the country. These upcycled buses haul millions of people to work every day and are re-done in such a way that they are able to carry roughly double the number of people than these buses do children in the US.
Al Jazeera’s David Mercer reports from Antigua, Guatemala.
