Donald Trump arrives in Vietnam for APEC summit
Trump joins world leaders gathered for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Vietnam.
US President Donald Trump has arrived in Vietnam after a state visit to Beijing, and his arrival has dominated the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit.
He has issued what appeared to be a sharp criticism of China’s policies, although he did not specifically mention China.
Trump also vowed to correct US trade deficits, particularly in Asia.
Many feel that his “America First” platform is protectionist, in contrast to President Xi Jinping’s speech that focused on China’s globalisation and openness to the world.
