It is now more than 12 months since Thailand’s King Bhumibol Adulyadej died.

After a year of national mourning, he will be cremated in an elaborate ceremony on Thursday. His crematorium is over 50 metres high and took over eight months to build.

His funeral is “considered to be the most important in contemporary Thai history” as King Bhuimibol was seen by many as the “father of all Thais” after he helped shape the country after the second world war.
