Death sentence expected in trial of Lebanese Muslim scholar

A Lebanese military court is set to deliver its verdict in the trial of a controversial Sunni scholar linked to a shoot-out with government troops in 2013.

Fighting between supporters of Ahmad al-Assir and Lebanese soldiers led to dozens of deaths.

He has been held in solitary confinement for the past two years.
