The “Nakba” or “catastrophe” – when hundreds of thousands of Palestinians left their land during the creation of Israel in 1948 – has become a rallying cry for the Palestinian cause.
Perhaps nowhere are the events of the “Nakba” more pertinent today than in the Gaza Strip, where Palestinians are still feeling the devastating effects of the latest Israeli assault.
