Silesia is an industrial province of Poland which has been hit hard by the economy’s slowdown, but this hasn’t stopped its inhabitants retaining their strong sense of identitity.
A recent census in the country saw around 200,000 people state their nationality as Silesian rather than Polish, and now there is a strong movement towards autonomy.
