As much of the world’s stock markets suffer through another bad week, Gordon Brown, the British prime minister, and Barack Obama, the US president, met at the White House, and the global economic downturn dominated their agenda.
But the much-mooted “special relationship” between the two nations may not be as special as before, as Al Jazeera’s Rob Reynolds reports.
