Dawood Siddiqi is a household name in Afghanistan and host of the country’s most popular TV programme – a talent show called Afghan Star.
But Siddiqi will not be presenting the final award in this year’s competition, because he has fled the country.
As Al Jazeera’s James Bays reports from Kabul, Siddiqi joins a growing number of high-profile Afghans who have failed to return from a trip abroad.
