 Sri Lanka civilians offered ‘welfare villages’ 
 

Sri Lanka’s government is preparing a number of so-called “welfare villages” for civilians fleeing the fighting against Tamil Tiger rebels.

Aid agencies say more than 200,000 people remain trapped in the war zone where the army is making its final push against the rebel group.
