Brazil’s Indians fight for an Amazon reserve – 27 Aug 08
Brazil’s Supreme Court is expected to rule on Wednesday on a land dispute that has caused racial and political tensions.
The government has set aside an Amazonian reserve for about 19,000 indigenous people.
But as Gabriel Elizondo reports from Surumu, one of the main entry points to the reserve, the non-indigenous rice farmers who work on the land are not prepared to leave.
