Obama’s poll lead assessed in terms of ‘Bradley effect’
According to polls, Barack Obama has a six or seven per cent lead over John McCain in popular support.
But polls have been wrong, because sometimes people lie to pollsters – especially when it comes to race, where people surveyed may support a black candidate in public and then vote for a white one on their secret ballot.
