Uproar in India after MPs force-feed fasting Muslim caterer

Footage of an attempt to force-feed a Muslim catering supervisor has many Indians calling for an apology. The caterer said he was physically threatened at a state-run guest house by members of Shiv Sena, a right-wing Hindu nationalist party and a key ally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. 

The video below shows footage from the incident and a Shiv Sena member stating they were unaware the man was a fasting Muslim and were only expressing their anger over the food quality.

A Shiv Sena member interviewed by Times Now said, “…whatever his caste, who he is, whatever his name, no one was aware of it…If you ask someone at a hotel look at this terrible food, you call the manager and ask them to try the food themselves…This manager is running from responsibilities and this is wrong.”
