Not all citizens who refuse army service are treated equally.

An eighth jail term was handed to a 19-year-old today for refusing mandatory service in the Israeli army. In the past 19 weeks, Nathan Blanc has served more than 100 days in jail. Blanc rejects service because of what he sees as his country’s trend towards a ‘non-democratic condition’ and unequal treatment of Israelis and Palestinians.
