Iowa votes for US 2012 Republican presidential candidates

The first major step in picking a presidential candidate for the US 2012 election is underway.

The 2012 U.S. elections are set to gain momentum as the Iowa Caucuses take place on January 3rd. The Republican race has seen frontrunners change, with uncertainty over who may take the nomination.

This campaign has also witnessed the influence of social media. Groups like Anonymous have threatened to hack the Caucus, while candidates use it to spread their message. However, could the caucuses be threatened by the emergence of a Populist Third-Party known as “Americans Elect” and the Occupy Iowa Caucus movement?

In this episode, we examine Republican presidential candidates and policies as the campaigns pick up steam. @GroverNorquist, President of Americans for Tax reform joins us on the couch; @Patrick Ruffini, a political strategist joins us via Skype.
