Kurdish television station Roj TV was found guilty of promoting terrorism by a Danish court on Tuesday. The ruling said that Roj TV had “uncritically disseminated” messages from the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which the EU labels as a terrorist organization. While the two companies behind the station were each fined 65,000 Danish crowns ($11,000), the court chose not to revoke Roj TV’s broadcasting license.

Kurdish Twitter users, who chat with the hashtag #TwitterKurds, celebrated the decision to allow the station to continue broadcasting as victory for the Kurdish movement.
