A woman has been killed and many injured at a University of Johannesburg campus in South Africa. News reports say thousands of students and parents had crowded around the university gates hoping to register for the 2012 academic year.
People quickly rushed through the gates as soon as they opened, trampling one woman to death. A video showing Tuesday’s incident has been shared on social networks and on twitter using the hashtag #UJStampede.
