Pakistan is celebrating 70 years of independence with massive festivities across the country, including an airshow in the capital Islamabad.

    Pakistan is celebrating 70 years of independence with massive festivities across the country, including an airshow in the capital Islamabad.

    It became a sovereign state in 1947 following the partition of British-ruled India.

    Al Jazeera's Kamal Hyder reports from the city of Lahore, where people have turned out in large numbers to mark the occasion.
