GCC crisis: Turkey boosts efforts for resolution

    Diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis are afoot ... British Prime Minister Theresa May has spoken to the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar and urged them to de-escalate the situatiuon.

    Turkey's foreign minister says he expects the Saudi king to lead efforts to resolve the crisis.

    Mevlut Cavasoglu was speaking in Ankara, after a brief visit to the region where he met the Emir of Qatar and the Emir of Kuwait, who is leading mediation efforts.

    He plans to fly to Mecca on Friday to meet the Saudi leader.
