Syria’s UN envoy to continue his term indefinitely

After the latest talks in Geneva made little progress, the UN special envoy to Syria, Staffan De Mistura, will continue in the job indefinitely. De Mistura was due to finish his term on Friday.

    After the latest talks in Geneva made little progress, the UN special envoy to Syria, Staffan De Mistura, will continue in the job indefinitely.

    De Mistura was due to finish his term on Friday.

    He said all sides are eager to return for a sixth round of talks that seek to end the war in Syria.

    Al Jazeera’s Andrew Simmons reports from Geneva.
