The INS Viraat, the world’s oldest aircraft carrier, has been decommissioned in Mumbai after 30 years of service in the Indian navy.

    The INS Viraat, the world’s oldest aircraft carrier, has been decommissioned in Mumbai after 30 years of service in the Indian navy.

    Formerly known as the HMS Hermes and used for 27 years by the UK’s Royal Navy, the ship clocked almost 23,000 flying hours.

    It holds the Guinness World record for the longest-serving warship.
