Oscars recognises Palestine for first time

Oscar-nominated film has Palestine listed as its country of origin for the first time in Academy Awards' history.

    Hollywood is preparing to host the 86th Academy Awards, the Oscars, in Los Angeles. 

    For the first time in the academy's history, a Palestinian-funded movie has been nominated in the foreign film category with 'Palestine' as the country of origin.
