Sistine Chapel undergoes LED ‘renaissance’
Michelangelo’s prized frescoes at Vatican City lit up with LED lamps to protect masterpieces from ultraviolet radiation.

Michelangelo’s famous frescoes in the Sistine Chapel are being seen in a completely new light.
Thousands of LED lights are being beamed on the masterpieces in an effort to provide stronger, but gentler, light that will not damage the paintings’ colours.
Al Jazeera’s Claudio Lavanga reports from Vatican City.
