Civilians caught up in east Ukraine fighting

Many civilians flee city of Slovyansk as security forces try to regain control from pro-Russian separatists.

Civilians in Ukraine are increasingly caught up in the conflict as the government boosts its offensive on pro-Russian separatists.

In the eastern city of Slovyansk, taken over by rebels, mortar barrages have been fired at random, hitting residential areas and a maternity hospital.

Al Jazeera's David Chater reports from Slovyansk.
