Berlinale top winner seeks asylum in Germany

Nazif Muijic won Best Actor at last year's Berlin Film Festival and has returned this year to seek asylum.

A real life immigration drama is playing out at this year's Berlin Film Festival.

Nazif Muijic won Best Actor at Berlinale in 2013 for a film that followed a day in his life as a scrap metal collector in Bosnia.

Muijic went home when the festival ended, but has returned to Germany to seek asylum.

So far the authorities have denied his request.

Al Jazeera's Phil Lavelle reports from Berlin.
