Vatican implements new criminal code

Tougher punishments approved for sexual abuse of minors and laws against money-laundering tightened.

    The Vatican's new criminal code has come into effect. It mandates tougher punishments for sexual abuse of children and covers Vatican employees across the world.

    Pope Francis has also tightened finance laws following allegations of money-laundering.
