Navalny launches mayoral bid in Moscow

Russian opposition leader arrives in capital after being released from custody. declaring he is going to win election.

    The Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny is campaigning to be Moscow's mayor.

    Navalny, a vehement critic of the Russian president Vladimir Putin, was released from jail ten days ago.

    He is appealing against a conviction for embezzlement and is promising to fight corruption in public office.
