Charities act to feed 'starving' in Britain

Charities say economic situation has severely affected thousands of people to the point of starvation.

When we talk about the world's hunger problems, there are several countries we associate with them, the UK is not usually one of them.

But poverty campaigners are warning that government cuts and high food prices are making it impossible for many people to feed their families.

Now some charities are organising for the vast amounts of perfectly good food thrown away by supermarkets to be distributed to those in need.
