Portugal a hit with pioneering drug programme

Decriminalising drugs and expanding addiction treatment has made Lisbon a model for other countries.

    Just over 10 years ago, Portugal decriminalised the possession and use of drugs and expanded state treatment for addicts.

    Today, Portugal's approach to narcotics and addiction is being studied by experts from around the world.

    Al Jazeera's Barnaby Phillips reports from Lisbon.
