Relief in Monaco as prince weds

European principality's eternal bachelor Prince Albert II marries a South African Olympic swimmer 20 years his junior.

    The principality of Monaco has a new princess: a South African former Olympic swimmer.

    The 33 year-old Charlene Wittsock married Prince Albert, 53, on Friday, who was once seen as the most eligible bachelor in Europe.

    Al Jazeera 's Paul Brennan reports on why many in Monaco felt a certain sense of relief.
