Hindus celebrate festival of Makar Sankranti

Indian and international kite-flyers participated in the day-long festival attended by hundreds of kite enthusiasts.

    Hindus across India are marking the festival of Makar Sankranti, which signifies the end of winter. 
     
    It is also the beginning of harvest season for farmers and is celebrated in different ways in various states.
