Sri Lanka curtailing S Arabia maid supply

Colombo bans women under 25 from going to Saudi Arabia after beheading of Sri Lankan housemaid.

Sri Lanka's government has banned women under 25 from going to Saudi Arabia to work as housemaids.

The decision follows the beheading of a Sri Lankan maid in Saudi Arabia earlier this month. She was convicted of killing a baby in her care.

The government's move, however, could be a blow to the Sri Lankan economy.
