Bollywood idol turns talk-show sensation

Aamir Khan's new television programme grips audiences with discussions of controversial topics.

    Bollywood star Aamir Khan has Indian television viewers gripped with a controversial new talk show.

    Satyamev Jayte, or "Truth Alone Prevails", sees the Lagaan star and a studio audience tackle issues ranging from female foeticide and child abuse to dowries and inadequate care for the elderly.

    To get viewers to tune in and engage with the show's topics, the network has blanketed the country with advertisements for the programme.
