Mixed response to Bollywood superhero film

Viewers more used to romantic dramas have given $25m movie a lukewarm reception.

A new Bollywood superhero film, reportedly the most expensive movie ever produced in India, has been met with controversy and box office uncertainty.

Even with a budget that insiders say has passed $25m, Ra One remains a novelty in an industry usually dominated by romantic dramas, and the response to the film has been lukewarm.

The movie has also faced a court case, with the Mumbai High Court ordering the producers to pay $200,000 to a writer in a dispute over the script rights.
