Prominent politician with outspoken views gets gunned down by a member of his security detail.

    Amid renewed political turmoil in Pakistan, prominent politician Salman Taseer was gunned down by one of his own elite police guards in central Islamabad.

    Taseer was an outspoken opponent to Pakistan's controversial blasphemy laws; he was reportedly killed because of his views.
