China marks Deng's 110th birth date in style

State TV airs 48 episode series of the life of former paramount leader, including political tension, but not everything.

    China is gearing up  for the 110th birthday of Deng Xiaoping, the former leader responsible for turning China into an economic powerhouse.

    As a tribute to Deng's accomplishments, Chinese state TV is airing a 48 episode series on his life. 
     
    It includes moments of political tension never before broadcast - but it does not include everything.
