Chinese protest against new chemical factory
Demonstrators are taking a stand against a new factory they say will be toxic to their health and to the environment.

Protesters have been clashing with riot police in the southern Chinese city of Maoming.
People have been demonstrating in an attempt to stop the construction of a new industrial chemical factory.
The local government has been using social media to promote the factory, which will make chemicals for plastics and synthetic fibres.
Residents fear it will will harm both the environment and their health.
Al Jazeera’s Rob McBride reports from Maoming.
