Philippines sues China over territorial spat

Philippines presents evidence to a UN tribunal contesting China’s territorial claim to most of the South China Sea.

The Philippines has filed a lawsuit to a United Nations tribunal against China over its territorial claim to about 80 percent of the South China Sea.

A day earlier, a Chinese ship had tried to block a Philippine vessel as it headed to the disputed Spratly Islands. That incident was caught on camera.
