China’s film industry beckons Westerners
Billion dollar cinema soliciting huge interest from Western film-makers.

The Shanghai Film Festival is drawing to a close in China, where the movie industry is big business.
The $1.5bn industry is fast becoming a very attractive market for Western film makers. Chinese film revenues have jumped tenfold in five years and after America, China’s market is the world’s biggest.
As Al Jazeera’s Andrew Thomas reports from Hengdian, China, the race is on to claim a stake in the lucrative industry.
