General Petraeus sets out mission

US commander says all parties involved need to co-operate better in Afghanistan.

    The senior US military man in Afghanistan says that all parties involved need to work together in their mission in the country.

    Speaking for the first time since taking over the role, General David Petraeus says he will continue the strategy of his predecessor, General Stanley McChrystal.

    The handover of power comes at a difficult time for Nato forces as June was the deadliest month since the war started.
