Peru local vote complicated by drug links

Lead-up to local polls marred by violence and allegations that some politicians have links to drug smuggling.

Peruvians are set to elect regional leaders in a vote on Sunday and there are more than twelve thousand candidates running for in the poll.
 
But the build up to the vote has been marred by violence and allegations that some politicians have links to drug trafficking.
