Obama pays surprise visit to Afghanistan

As US mission in Afghanistan draws to a close, President Barack Obama thanks soldiers for their service.

    US President Barack Obama has made an unannounced visit to Afghanistan to thank US soldiers for their service.

    At the end of the year NATO and the US are scheduled to draw down the number of troops stationed in Afghanistan, but the exact number of US soldiers to remain is still in question.
