Ecuador under ash clouds as volcano erupts

Tungurahua volcano spewed ash over 8km high forcing closure of schools a regional airport.

Ecuador is under the shadow of dark clouds, as Tungurahua volcano spewed ash more than eight kilometres into the air over the weekend.

The eruption has affected a third of Ecuador’s provinces and forced the suspension of classes at some schools after temporarily closing a regional airport.
